November 2010

"A Regular Girl," the first single from the new CD has climbed to Number 65, up from 71, on the CanCon country top 100 printed in the November issue of Country Music News magazine!

CMNews editor Larry Delaney also did a nice review of the new album in the same issue. Read below...

Larry Delaney - Editor, Country Music News:

"When we reviewed Tommy John Ehman’s 2008 Wheels of Life album we likened his vocal styling and songs to that of fellow Canuck hit maker, Charlie Major.  That comparison is still valid with this new 8-song outing by the Craik, Saskatchewan-bred singer/songwriter…and perhaps even more than ever.

Tommy John Ehman has again written all of the songs for his latest collection, and delivers the material with a passion-filled voice that make the tunes come alive. There’s plenty of high-end energy in TJE’s music, captured to its fullest in the current lead single, A Regular Girl, and some equally strong tunes in the album’s title track Turn On The Radio, and the heavy-beat ballad T-Shirt.

Listen also for some variety in the bluesy ballad I Can’t Stay Away From You, a power ballad in I’m Not Giving Up and some hurtin’ wanderlust sounds in I’m Coming Home and Moments In Time.

Turn On The Radio, Ehman’s fifth album, was produced by Brian Dobbs, renowned for his L.A. studio work for many of Rock’s top acts (Bon Jovi / AC/DC / Motley Crue etc.); and recorded at studios in Saskatoon and Regina."

It may have been almost a year in the making but Tommy John Ehman's new CD "Wheels of Life" is finally finished and ready for you! Produced by Brad Prosko and featuring the likes of Garry Tallent of the E-Street Band, Jack Semple, Jason Heistad and Dave Chobot, the new CD stands out from the rest and is on par with other mainstream artists.

Tommy, Brad and Rob back from Montana!

"It was a memorable experience" says Tommy John Ehman of their excursion to Montana to record with the legendary Garry Tallent of the E Street Band. "Garry couldn't have been more gracious and professional and his work on the album was quite simply, amazing."

Dubbed "The Montana Sessions," the trip produced some great memories, friendships and as well 11 stunning bass tracks for the new album. Over the course of two very busy days in April, Garry layed down track after track of innovative and intriguing bass guitar. His years of experience with Bruce Springsteen and countless studio endeavors, showed through with "tight," professional work. Garry also expressed a keen interest in the songs and commented on several occasions that he thought the material was very strong, which means a lot coming from a man who has played with 'The Boss" for over 30 years!

Garry and the three "Saskatchewan boys" worked very well together in the studio and also enjoyed each others company over lunches and coffee where a true friendship was formed.

"I'm looking forward to next time already. I would love to work with Garry again and I hope we do!"

>Garry Tallent of Bruce Springsteen's "E Street Band" will bring his many years of Bass guitar experience on board to play bass on all 11 tracks. Garry has been an "E Streeter" for over 30 years and has recorded and toured the world with the one and only Bruce Springsteen. He's a very exciting addition to the recording team.
