Canadian Recording Artist Tommy John Ehman “Wheels Of Life” “When I had the inspiration for this new CD recording project, it came to me rather unexpectedly. I had been writing material to record, but without a strong direction in mind. Then, as it usually does, something happened to give me the direction and focus that I needed. The following short story tells how I became inspired to write and now record this new CD.” “I was at my close friend’s house, Kim Ehman of “eh man productions,” for a visit and she asked me if I wanted to watch a video she had been working on in conjunction with Remembrance Day for release in 2005. It was a collection of World War II veterans talking about what it was like during their time in the army. Their stories were extremely moving to say the least. The love for their country, belief in the job that they did all those years ago and lost friends and family made me feel like we (Canadians) really owe them a great debt of gratitude. That night I went home and wrote a song called “Song For The Soldier”, which was my way of expressing my thoughts about those men and women who fought and died to keep Canada and the world a safer place to live. That song became the cornerstone of what has now become a full CD project, titled “Wheels Of Life.” With that theme in mind I wrote a number of songs closely related to soldiers and the work they’ve done and still do, protecting our country. I expanded the theme to include a closer look at how I view our great country, Canada, the war in Afghanistan and the idea that some think we should not participate in that war. The songs and ideas flowed rather easily and from that group of songs I narrowed it down to eleven that really expressed my thoughts. The album is about Canadians and those who live and raise families here the best they can. With an eye on patriotism, a love of this country and those who do a dangerous yet vitally important job in keeping us all safe from threats here at home and abroad and keeping Canada a great place to live.” Tommy John Ehman Track Listing
